COACH OF THE YEAR 2010

Coping and Stress Workshops

For families with Autistic children and adults.

No parent of an autistic child should ever feel they are alone, but sadly so many do not have the support they need, or even are aware of the support that is available.

I am committed to help parents who live with the daily demands of bringing up an autistic child, by helping them find the help they need.  I know first hand how challenging this is as our son Tommy was diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder in 2007 and I personally have at times felt isolated and in despair, and I am truely thankful and grateful for the support I have from family, from so many wonderful parents (new friends) who also have autistic children, and from Ashgrove school in Penarth.

My skills and experience as a coach means I am lucky enough to be able to help, and I have decided to run free workshops for parents on coping strategies and stress management.

These workshops will focus on the strategies that are useful when trying to cope with the demands of raising an autistic child, and stress management techniques that we can use when we become aware of stress levels going up.

The aim is to arm ourselves with some skills so that we can continue on the journey as an autistic parent, and make that  journey just a bit easier.

The workshops are free to all parents of autistic children. It will run from 10am to approx 2pm in the Cardiff area.

If you are interested in dates or any further information please click here and fill in your details with your message and I will get back to you.

If you are a parent of a child at Ashgrove, then you can also contact the school for information.
