Coaching is a way to realise your true potential. We all could achieve anything we set our minds to, but the reason we don't is because of our thinking and behaviour which has developed over time and become so habitual we don't even recognise what we are doing to sabotage our chances of success and achievement.
Coaching provides a safe place to explore, uncover and then eliminate those destructive behavioural and thinking patterns in your life – in a supportive, caring and inspirational environment.
This is achieved by empowering you with specific tools and scientifically tested techniques that work, and have worked with thousands of people already. It is a solution-focused approach to personal development that can assist you to make lasting changes in all areas of your life.
It is not counselling. It's not about the past. Coaching is forward looking and proactive.
It is not consulting. It's not about telling you what you should do. Coaching is about helping you find the answers.
Having a coach is a well known practice in sport, and in many other professions too like singing and in business. These people use a coach to help them get the best out of themselves, to achieve thier goals and to help them move towards the top of their profession. This concept can be applied to any area of your life, any profession and business. A personal coach works with you to help you achieve what you want, to help you realise your true potential and to help you understand yourself better so you can continue to achieve now and in the future.
So how does it work?
Your complimentary taster session is all about getting to know each other, what you think you want to achieve and looking into some of the possible barriers to success you may or may not be aware of. It's a chance for you to see if coaching is something that could help you, and whether I am the right coach for you.
Should you wish to continue with coaching then in subsequent sessions I follow a tried and tested programme of coaching which is tailored to your individual requirements. We look at your life wheel which is a representation of your life right now, then identify goals for improvement which we break down into manageable milestones. We spend time discussing what you believe to be true about yourself and the world and uncover the ones that support you and those that detract you from your goals. We work on eliminating the limiting beliefs and build up a supportive structure of values for your ultimate success. We also look at confidence and self-esteem, how easy or hard you make it to feel good about yourself and what basic human needs do you need met to move you on. Among other topics we could cover communication, how we influence others, taking responsibility and our internal dialogue. At every session we look at what progress is being made towards your goals, and if anything is getting in the way then we can deal with it. As well as short term goals we look at long term life goals and your ultimate purpose in being here.
No two clients are the same, so this is just a framework onto which I add various tools and techniques to ensure each session is a success for you. I also offer one-off or ad-hoc coaching sessions for those who do not want to take the full programme.
