How to be more attractive

Welcome to all existing and new subscribers this month and to my newsletter for June 2008. Firstly apologies for missing out a newsletter in May, and thank you to those of you who enquired.

Do you want to attract clients without really trying?

In this newsletter is some useful food for thought on attracting the right clients. It's not marketing talk, just some insights as to how you as a person can become more 'attractive' and have clients gravitate naturally towards you.

Firstly be truthful about yourself. Truth is naturally attractive and the more you and your life 'are' the truth, the more attractive you will be without effort. Ask yourself where in my life am I trying hard to make an effort? Things are usually a challenge because we are striving to be someone, as if who we are isn't enough, or because we feel the need to have something like success or expertise. Instead just enjoy more of what you have and are and you will find that success and expertise will find you. Of course keep working at it, but you'll stop trying to become someone. If you're new at something, be new at something and don't think you should be anyone else. This is the truth about who you are and where you are - enjoy it.

So be who you are, and when you know who you are you will attract others who like you for who you are. You will send out signals that say “I'm here” without having to shout. The media and others are often telling us who we should be, so it's not unusual for someone not to know who they are but we can start by asking ourselves “What kind of person am I?” and looking at how we live our life which tells us a lot. The answers, while important, are not the ultimate benefit but the process of enquiry into the truth is.

Remember we are everything, the good and the bad as a result of our lives so far. Our ability to include all parts without having to justify any of it makes us feel more attractive to ourselves, and hence the more attractive we are to others. By knowing who we are we can let go of who we're not, we can recognise aspects of others in ourselves, give ourselves what we need and generally increase our awareness. We can also re-evaluate our goals and get rid of the ones that are just there compensating for us not being enough!

Then we can focus on others, and the more you can help others succeed, again the more people will gravitate to you. This links in with what you offer your clients and it's not just about having good products or services - it must also be what they need right now, but get that what you offer is only a minor part of a person's life.

So if you focus your creative efforts on how to help others succeed you will probably develop something different. You need to be in a sold place in life in order to really want others to be very successful otherwise you become needy for them to be successful (to buy your product or service) and then it's difficult to truly care about them.

This is just Part One of many future newsletters that will focus on this topic, so I hope it has been insightful. Finding the real you is a journey and the above will help you get started on the right path. A personal coach can help.
